What music are you currently grooving to?
Sky Blue Sky by Wilco... it's a great record. They're writing proper songs again.
Anything by the Spikedrivers, who are the best blues band this side of the Atlantic, and quite possibly the other side, too.
Lots of Stones stuff, too. Gimme Shelter. Who would have thought the voodoo apocalypse would swing so much?
And... Do the Honky Tonk by The Hawks (who became The Band). Too soon gone, Richard.
What, if push comes to shove, are your three all-time favourite albums?
Err... if push comes to shove, as of today it would be:
Magic in the Air - Lindisfarne. Great songs, great band, great production. Just... great. I'm a live album addict.
CSNY Box Set - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Okay. It's not an album as such, but it's 4CDs of gems. I bought it about 10 years ago, and it set me on a musical thread I'm still following. Neil Young, The Byrds, and on to Gram Parsons, the Burritos... mind you, Graham Nash wrote some stinkers.
Wind and Wuthering - Genesis. The acceptable face of Prog Rock. Fantastic atmosphere but, most importantly, great tunes. Including one about a giant mouse. I make no apologies.
What do you sing in the shower?
Nowt. I don't sing in the shower. I sing in the bathroom, though... when my daughter is having a splash in the bath about I usually give Can't You Line 'Em or The Big Ship Sailed on the Ally Ally O! an airing.
Which musician, other than youself, have you ever wanted to be?
No-one. I'm perfectly happy being me.
